Injuries and Pain Management

Downloadable PDF guides on movement alternatives for injuries

As you probably already know, just because your client has an injury it doesn't mean they need to stop training. You can usually work within the bounds of the injury – as necessary reduce the:

  • Volume

  • Weight

  • Speed

  • Time under tension

  • Complexity

OR substitute the movement using the traffic light system used in the PDFs we have created below as a guide in the initial stages of the injury.

When using these guides please keep in mind:

  • The advice is general and shouldn’t be used to replace individual advice. Even some of the green light movements may not be appropriate if the injuries are severe or complex. Consult your client’s Physio or refer them to us for specific advice if required.

  • As your client’s rehab progresses you may be able to move along to the orange and red lights.

  • The movements are relatively higher risk going down the columns, so take care to still keep things light and controlled
